We are also able to provide offline services with the help of our business partners to assist organizations with planning and implementing an innovation strategy.

 

How can our company benefit from the Innovation Interchange online platforms?
The platforms assist you in cost effectively growing your business by facilitating collaboration to overcome your tough challenges or take your solutions more successfully to market. They also assists in prioritizing your work so time and resources are spent on developing the best solutions to your challenges.

 

Who in my organization should be involved?
Members of your organization who will have a good technical and commercial understanding of the challenges or ideas are most appropriate. It does not necessarily have to be decision makers but those who are good at spotting opportunities and thinking broadly would make best use of it.

 

How is the Intellectual Property protected?
You retain your ownership rights in Intellectual Property associated with content you submit. However, you must have permission from the owner to publish the content you do not own. As a participant, you need to respect the Intellectual Property Rights and privacy of other participants. To minimize your risk, we do not suggest that you, nor is there a need to disclose confidential information on the portal.

 

How does the Innovation Interchange differ from other Innovation platforms?
While there are other innovation platforms, they each serve a specific need/purpose. The innovation Interchange differs in that you have access to a full suite of innovation platforms that enables you to pick and use all or one depending on your needs (which will evolve and change). It is beneficial to have a 'one stop shop' to serve the numerous ways you might collaborate to innovate.

We also have a strong focus on helping you drive valuable outcomes in a simple and effective way - we give you what you need and keep the unnecessary bells and whistles away.

 

Can I advertise on the Innovation Interchange?
There is no advertising space in the Innovation Interchange. However in the Marketplace, you have the opportunity to promote your organization by submitting quality solutions in response to challenges.

How much of my time will it take to utilize the online platforms?
It is up to the individual to determine how much time they would like to spend. We advise visiting the platforms you are involved in at least once a week, We also provide relevant notifications to you periodically to help you keep up to date with your activities.

 

How do I access the platforms?
Once you have created an Innovation interchange account, you are able to log into the platforms online and 24/7.

 

How do I get started?
All of our platforms are accessed in a secure online area. To begin using any of the platforms you first need to create an Innovation Interchange account. This is an individual account which you create using your name, work email address and your personal password.

Once you have logged in, you will be able to navigate between the platforms and use each as it suits your needs.

To begin using a platform you may need to complete an additional step as indicated below:

  • RoundTable: Create your own RoundTable or join one you have been invited to
  • PIVOT: Create a project in PIVOT or join one you have been invited to
  • theZone: Your organization needs to be signed up to use theZone, please contact us for more information on this
  • Marketplace: Your organization needs to be approved as a member. You can register a request for approval yourself

 

ABOUT ROUNDTABLE

What is RoundTable?
RoundTable is an online platform for people to connect in a secure forum and openly discuss and debate relevant trends and issues.

 

How does it work?
Users create or select a RoundTable to participate in. Users then create a topic to discuss, collaborate by commenting on topics, prioritize topics by voting and share roundtables and topics of interest.

 

How can my organization benefit from RoundTable?
Roundtable provides a central point for groups of your choice to cost effectively come together to create topics on knowledge management, projects, competitions, campaigns, and conferences & events.  Your organization will benefit by being better connect to its industry and community and building their understanding of relevant topics - this may lead to work being generating or finding new partners to work with.

 

How much does it cost?
There is no cost to use RoundTable.

 

How do I start using it?
Create an Innovation Interchange account.  Once logged in select RoundTable and either create your own new one to invite people to or contribute to one you already belong to.

 

How long can I use it?
There is no time limit to how long you can use RoundTable, you are free to continue setting up your own RoundTables and responding to others for as long as you choose.

 

Can I get training on how to use it?
Yes. The Innovation Interchange team is able to provide training on using the RoundTable.

ABOUT PIVOT

What is PIVOT?
PIVOT is an online idea management platform for a selected group of organizations.

 

How does it work?
PIVOT has a simple, focused approach to managing crowd sourced challenges and ideas on your project(s). Members submit and collaborate on new ideas that will help achieve project objectives.

Ideas are prioritized through voting and a selected review group assesses whether ideas should be closed or progressed to the next stage of development. Ideas progress from raw (the basic concept) to active (a cost benefit analysis) to delivery (to be implemented) to delivered (complete and reported on).

 

How can my organization benefit from PIVOT?
When working on a project with other organizations, team members are frequently located in different geographic areas. PIVOT enables you to cost effectively come together online to collaborate on the project. With its outcome driven focus it helps the team prioritise the ideas that will deliver the best value.

 

How much does it cost?
The cost will depend on the needs of your project team including how many members there are and for how long you wish to use it. Please contact us for a quote.

 

How do I start using it?
PIVOT is offered as a Software as a Service. Once we have agreed on a price and signed an agreement, it is quick and simple to set up and can be done within a day. It can be accessed online by team members 24/7.

 

How long can I use it?
There is no time limit to how long you use PIVOT. The length will depend on the agreement we have made. Once the project is complete and you no longer require it, you may still access a read only version for reporting and recording keeping.

 

Can I get training on how to use it?
Yes. The Innovation Interchange team is able to provide training on using PIVOT. You may also consider accessing the service we offer to help you set up a holistic innovation framework on your project.

ABOUT THE MARKETPLACE

What is the Marketplace?
The Marketplace is for any organization to connect solutions with challenges. It currently serves the sectors of Water, Transport, Energy, and Food & Agribusiness.

 

How does it work?
As a participant, your organization will qualify as either an Adopter (infrastructure owners, operators) or an Enabler (technology or solutions provider). An Adopter describes a specific industry challenge. Other Adopters collaborate on the challenge to refine and validate it. Adopters sharing the same challenge form a cluster to collectively evaluate and implement solutions.

Enablers create or refine ideas to present as solutions and they can join forces to support the commercialization of a solution. Adopters then connect to Enablers who have the most promising response and the business relationship continues offline to implement the solution.

 

How do I start using it?
Your organization needs to register / sign up online. You will fall into either Adopter or Enabler group. Adopters are infrastructure owners and managers that describe a specific industry challenge while Enablers are solution providers that create or refine ideas to present solutions. Adopters then connect to Enablers as business relationship continues offline to implement the solution.

 

How can I find out if my organization is already registered?
The first step in the registration process is designed to check this. When you enter your work email address, our system will determine if your organization is already registered based on your email domain.

 

How can I avoid competitors seeing the challenge(s) that my organization is facing?
The Marketplace encourages Adopters to determine what is appropriate to put forward to the community and submit challenges that they know are an industry wide issue and are likely to be faced by their competitors, too. We iterate that this is not a procurement site but focused on building innovations that change industries.

 

How can my organization benefit from the Marketplace?
Adopters can efficiently solve challenges with targeted solutions from around the globe and find other adopters in aligned sectors to pool resources and implement solutions to common challenges.

Enablers can access crowd sourced challenges to provide a clear indication of global market needs across multiple sectors, and; grow their business globally with focused and efficient access to the market and commercialization partners.

 

How much does it cost?
The Marketplace is free to join. You may register online.

 

How long can I use it?
There is no time limit to how long you can use the Marketplace. However if you change organizations you will no longer be able to use it under your current organization profile and you may have to sign up your new organization before continuing use.

 

Can I get training on how to use it?
Yes. The Innovation Interchange team is able to provide training on using the Marketplace.

ABOUT theZONE

What is theZone?
theZone is an online idea management platform for a single organization.

 

How does it work?
theZone is designed for all members of a single organization to participate, regardless of location and position. Members of your organization crowd source, and submit challenges and ideas. Users then collaborate, vote on and progress ideas in a transparent and structured approach.

 

How can my organization benefit from theZone?
theZone assists in connecting your people which leads to a stronger team culture of collaboration. By cost effectively enabling you to crowd source ideas from across your organization, you increase the chances of developing new ideas into solutions that can be commercialized for financial gain or identifying business process improvements.

 

How much does it cost?

How do I start using it?
TheZone is offered as a Software as a Service. Once we have agreed on a price, signed an agreement and done any specific customisations you require, it will be ready to use. It can be accessed online by members of your organization 24/7.

There is no time limit to how long you use theZone. The length will depend on the agreement we have made.

 

Can I get training on how to use it?

In order to ensure optimal performance when navigating the Innovation Interchange site and using its platforms, we recommend using:
